The winners of the second Fanny Mendelssohn Bursary – Vera Karner and Dominik Wagner – present first-ever recordings for an exceptional format!

With their Gassenhauer – Gassenbauer program the two exceptionally gifted Viennese Classical musicians – Vera Karner on clarinet and Dominik Wagner on double bass – won over the experts of the Fanny Mendelssohn Bursary jury, headed by Jürgen Kesting.

Resonances Of The Listening Heart: Carte Blanche To Anne-Sophie Mutter Foundation Artist Dominik Wagner

The Chelsea Music Festival returns June 10-18, 2016 for its 7th season featuring leading musicians and exciting newcomers in the performing, culinary and visual arts. This year, the Festival celebrates “Gravity 350” in honor of Newton’s enlightening encounter with a falling apple 350 years ago.

Anne-Sophie Mutter artist and double bassist Dominik Wagner is joined by clarinet virtuoso Vera Karner for an award-winning program from Europe that is based on Beethoven’s “Gassenhauer” Trio and features music by composers who have composed their own set of “catchy tunes.”

Dominik Wagner is the greatest hope among rising young double bass players today.

In 2015 Dominik became a member of the ensemble “Mutter’s Virtuosi”, joining the DVD production Yellow Lounge. Since March 2016 he has held a scholarship from the Anne-Sophie Mutter Foundation.
